Marathon, Texas, a tranquil town nestled between the Glass Mountains and the Del Norte Range, embodies a unique blend of history and natural beauty. In the aftermath of the industrial revolution, Albion E. Shepard, a former sea captain, acquired land in the heart of the rugged plains. Struck by the landscape’s resemblance to the vast plains of Marathon, Greece, he founded the town of Marathon, Texas.
Despite being situated 6,612 miles away from Greece, the constellation of Hercules shines brightly over our vineyard nestled in the heart of Texas. Our vineyard benefits from a unique blend of soils nurtured by the surrounding mountain ranges. We aim to capture West Texas' serene ambiance in our Hercules wine, allowing you to savor its tranquility no matter where you are.
